What is It?
Progressive Dinner
The Progressive Dinner is an evening where groups of 8 to 10 people rotate homes for different courses of a meal. There will be different people at each course so you get to meet a lot of people in one evening! At the end of the evening we all gather in yet another person’s home for dessert. Everyone who participates volunteers to host either the appetizer, soup and salad, entrée, or bring a dessert to the dessert party. Each course lasts about 45 minutes. This is usually held in March and is always an adults only event. Watch the winter issue of the Pheasant’s Tale to sign up to participate in this very popular neighborhood event.
Easter Egg Hunt
This is fun! The organizer hides plastic eggs that have candy in them for the kids to find. This is such an extraordinary event that the Easter Bunny himself makes an appearance! All PH families are welcome. The egg hunt is organized for various age groups up to age 10.
Garage Sale
This is a great opportunity to get the house ready for summer! You can clean out stuff you don’t want and sell it. Then buy more stuff from other neighbors to sell next year! (ha ha). The garage sale is usually held the first weekend in May.
T.G.I.F.
Thank God It’s Friday parties are held once a month, most months of the year. The host provides appetizers and snacks and it’s B.Y.O.B. These parties are adults only because the host doesn’t have activities going on for children. To help the host offset the cost of food, it is $2.00 person.
Picnic
This happens in September. We meet in a designated area of the neighborhood, usually where someone has volunteered their front yard for the sack race! There are also games planned for the little ones too! The Entertainment Committee Chairperson is in charge of this.
Halloween
Each year a family volunteers to host the event, usually in their back yard. The ghosts and goblins (children and their parents) provide snacks, desserts, etc. There are games, face painting and other activities to keep the ghouls busy and the parents get to have a great time too. It gets rave reviews every year!
Christmas Luminaria
Representatives from Pheasant Hills Association delivers white paper bags and votive candles to your door for you make luminaries out of. On Christmas Eve, you line them up along your curb. It is so pretty and gives you that warm fuzzy feeling! If you will be out of town a neighbor would be happy to do this for you. This is voluntary, please don’t feel obligated.
